Chloe...

For the second year Chloe Nord acts as our public face daily. She says even on a slow day at least 20 or so people are in to take a look at Project Space. Busy days like Wednesday July 7th ("First Wednesday") when the new shows open, will have many more than that...better get it on your calendar...

Jennifer Gimzewski

I am motivated to paint by the miracle of colour; its beauty and the emotional hold it has on people. I want to fill the canvas with colours that, when placed next to one another, create an emotional response from the viewer. I want to fill the space with the music of colour and allow the viewer to respond to its song. I try to find the combination of colour, shape and texture that give expression to the spaces between. It is about the space created on the canvas but, more importantly, about the space between the artist and the viewer. My paintings are about reaching across that space and inviting the viewer into my world. Inviting others to see beauty and harmony in my work.--Jennifer Gimzewski

Elizabeth Bauman

It was a delight to see what Elizabeth left for weekend gallery visitors to view. Her sumptuous painting reminds me of medieval paintings for being simple, lovely, and that emote romantic legends.

Saturday at Project Space

We just stopped in briefly yesterday and found Adam at work increasing the density of tubes.

Additionally I have a shot from Thursday of our documentarians Barbara Rowland and Phil Krug, plus the old remnant of the Metropolitan store which maybe somebody will use this summer??

Layne Young: studio artist

My work is a constant orbit around the themes of sacred space and the indescribable, yet irrefutable quality that infuses in all things. I am fascinated by the divine: where and how it may be approached, summoned, and contained.--Layne Young

Bonnie Hull: on the edge of time, light, and shadow

It is great to see Bonnie tracing the edges of light and shadow, she finds the ephemeral within spaces and shares her vision with gallery visitors.

The slideshow below is a composite of Bonnie's time-based drawing at Project Space 2008.

we tube: Adam and Rosalynn Rothstein

The "performance area" will be filled with a blob-like peninsula, and there is a fair amount of "thickening" to be done. Thickening is the "highly technical term" for going back over the structure and increasing the density, and decreasing the amount of free space in the tunnels and passageways. It really increases the sense of the installation as an imposition, blocking light, sound, and movement, as the structures grow, like a crystal. --Adam Rothstein
